The endometrium matters

  • Since 2014, IGENOMIX has been conducting a deep line of research to understand the endometrium factor in recurrent implantation failure patients.
  • Dysbiosis of the uterine cavity has been associated to poor reproductive outcomes in IVF patients, suggesting that pathogenic deviations of the Lactobacillus endometrial content could play a role in infertility (Moreno et al., 2016)

What is the procedure?

What tests are included in EndomeTRIO?

ERA

Endometrial Receptivity Analysis

  • The ERA test resulted in a 73% pregnancy rate in patients with implantation failure.

EMMA

Endometrial Microbiome Metagenomic Analysis

  • Our scientific publication ’Evidence that the endometrial microbiota has an effect on implantation success or failure‘, establishes that the pathological modification of endometrial microbiota is associated with poor reproductive outcomes for IVF patients.

ALICE

Analysis of Infectious Chronic Endometritis

  • Independent studies show that this condition affects up to 30% of infertile patients, and in cases of repeated implantation failure or recurrent pregnancy loss, this can rise to 66%.
More info

Who should use EndomeTRIO Analysis?

  • Women who have experienced implantation failure with morphologically good quality embryos.
  • Women with a history of recurrent pregnancy loss.
  • Women with a morphologically normal uterus and normal endometrial thickness (≥ 6 mm), where the uterus and endometrium are unlikely to be the problem.
  • Women with chronic Endometritis.

EMMA/ALICE Limitations

  • These tests are not able to detect resistance to antibiotics.
  • ALICE only detects the presence of pathogens associated with chronic endometritis. A negative result does not rule out the presence of other endometrial pathogens.
  • The tests are not 100% accurate at determining the bacterial species.

ERA Limitations

  • There is a risk (<5%) to get a non-informative result, in which the biopsy procedure has failed to obtain a sufficient quantity and/or quality of tissue to be able to make a diagnosis. If this should occur a new biopsy will be required.
  • The aim of this test Is to provide physicians with an objective molecular diagnosis of the patient´s endometrial timing of receptivity. Depending on the results of this test, the physician may use it as a guide for personalized embryo transfer.
  • Pregnancy is not guaranteed, even with a receptive result. Poor embryo quality, genetic abnormalities, or previous pathologies can also reduce the likelihood of becoming pregnant.
  • The ERA® does not test for any other endometrial pathology and does not asses or provide a prediction for the health of a subsequent pregnancy.
